Here are a few examples of the many personalised poems I have written and some feedback I have received about them:
When Suz found out she was in the family way
And that bree and vino could no longer stay
She didnt seem to mind one bit, 'Baby Bean' was her new hit!
And so the pregnancy began to unfold
With no tales of sickness to be told
She carried that baby with her usual style and grace
Even once wearing tight black lace
All slender was her frame with a tiny bump
While other pregnant mothers looked bloated and slumped
At last the due date came but also went
Lots of anxious time was spent
Then on 16 January 2011
Susannah and Dean were transported to heaven
Lily Kaitlin popped out for all to see
Now they were the perfect family
It was obvious from the very start, Lily was a work of art
With beautiful big eyes and a button nose
Dam that baby could strike a pose
Silky brown hair and rose bud lips, but boy o boy can her botty let rip!
Suz and Lily are boosom buddies - pardon the pun
She is blatently a fantastic mum
From cluster feeding ;0) til the early hours, rarely having time for showers
Fun days out in the Silver Cross, baby brain and memory loss
To revising with Lily on her knee, against all odds getting a degree
If Lily is anything like Suz, brains, beauty and kindness she will ooze
A priceless bond between those two, their love everlasting, deep and true!
Thank goodness, at last, after 5 attempts Many hours invested and lots of cash spent
We got the news we had been waiting for, your mother nearly fainted to the floor
You did it son and we are ever so proud, even though we tease you aloud
We knew you would get there in the end, even if it drove you and your instructor round the bend
Your persistence and patience has got you far and now for the gift – yep we bought you a car!
So here are the keys be careful, have fun
Congratulations from your Dad and Mum
You have worked at the bank for over 25 years and are highly respected by your peers
You know everything about banking you possibly could and retire now you really should
Its time for you to have a rest from all the paper work and corporate stress
To spend your days fishing by a lake, or on the sofa with day time TV and cake
So thank you, good luck and farewell, Look us up sometime or give us a bell
From all of us here at Barclays bank we would like to say you have been a real champ

We realise being a mum can be tough, it can sometimes leave you feeling rough
Unappreciated, misunderstood, even when you think you did all you could
Thank goodness for Mothers Day – we can confirm your doing just fine
So kick back and relax with a glass of wine
This is your day of the year, to slack off and enjoy with a conscious clear
Don't lift a finger or give a care, wash your troubles out of your hair
In the tub have a good soak, leave all the house work to your bloke
Ella and May think you're a fabulous mum and wouldn't trade you for any sum
Roadwork's, recession, refurbishment playing on your mind Life's not being very kind
Don't worry as it will not be long before - people are queuing at your door
To eat at the best place in town, purchasing lots and lots of drinks to down
With an interior like something out of a magazine, profits fat and never lean
Staff all working in harmony, it will literally be raining down money
Your business reputation every one will envy, always delivering successful and trendy
The Kings Head future is bright, him above will see you right
It's a pleasure to spend another birthday with you since the day we said I do
I shall make it my mission today to ensure your birthday needs are catered for in every way
A year older but you are wearing well and your age no one can tell
The Meadows bank is bursting at the seams with happy memories of fulfilling our dreams
Exotic holidays and dream homes to boot, in England and Cyprus we have a root
Your football mad and it makes me smile, today if you are good you can watch it for a while
So let's raise a glass to my Roberto, I can truly say he is a cracking fellow
She used to work at the wildlife park, with the giraffes she would have a laugh
In Halesworth was where we met, I thought what a fabulous ladette
We would drink, we would smoke, we would talk and giggle, then we would go out and have a wiggle
She moved to Bali and I was sad, now she is back and I am glad
She is such a brilliant friend to me, in fact she is one of the family
So yippee and shout hooray it's my lovely Natalie's birthday
I really hope you enjoy your cream tea, with Suzy, Bex, Lola and me
Sometimes I get confused and lost, my brain seems to jumble and end up in knots
I think that I can have it all, now I understand that is my downfall
To think I nearly lost you makes me shudder
You are a perfect wife and amazing mother
From now on it is all about you, me and our beautiful daughter Aimee
I will make us the happiest family
No more staying late at the office at night, instead expect me home when it's still light
No more weekends sat doing paper work, instead in our home or garden I will lurk
Everything I want and need I have already
You still leave me breathless and feeling heady
Forgive me my love for being so blind, let us leave all that behind
A special poem from your mum to mark you turning 21!
Where have all the years gone? Look at you now so beautiful and strong
From those early days at the swimming pool to taking you to Thorpe ST Andrews School
Now you're a super PA and blossoming in every way
I really am so very proud and want to boast it all around
May your birthday be what you wish it to be, with your friends and family at your party
In the future you may wish to travel or in property investment you may dabble
What ever you decide to do I wish you love and happiness all the way through
We invite you to our wedding day and hope you will come out to play
As our dear friends you will be aware Kasey and I love to travel here and there
Following our wedding day, our travel plans here we lay
We intend to explore South America and the Far East and we shall not think of you in the least
Now that's not really true we will probably be home sick by the time we reach Peru
What we are really trying to say is that we would favour cash over a gift to take with us on our way
But first and foremost that aside, your wonderful company may you provide
A Matron of Honour has a special duty
She must be sincere and full of inner beauty
This is why Bea we chose you, because not just anybody would do
We have known you since we were tearaway teens
In our university days we shared baked beans
We feel we know you very well and our secrets we know you will not tell
Thank you for all your help in making our wedding day so perfect
All your time and energy was totally worth it
For ever and ever as Mr & Mrs Harley we will be and never forget our dear friend and wonderful Matron of Honour Bea
A Birthday poem from the Ashton three
For a very special member of our family
Our cousin Kris is now the big three Ooooo No!
But don't fear there's still plenty more years of fabulousness to go
A wonderful childhood we remember well
Tales of riding motorbikes and go- karts round the garden we can tell
Holidays at Cromer in the VW camper van
Tea parties and trifle with our dear old Nan
Bombing cars round the filed, a youth miss spent!
Playing blind mans bluff so sweet and innocent
Now you're a motorbike riding cop who likes to travel & in Kuk Sool you often dabble
I wonder what this poem could say in 30 more year's time?
Perhaps informing of a grey haired biker who's rather fond of wine?
What ever the future has in store for this Officer of the Law
You know we will be here to share You will never get us out of your hair!
Congratulations on your graduation
A wonderful time of well deserved joy and elation
At last your study days have come to an end For your self, you will now have to fend
A girl like you so bright and clever An exciting future to endeavour
A top class Barrister, your name in lights
Winning the fight for 'Human Rights'
Good luck as you go self employed
Any hurdles and struggles may you avoid
We wish you all the very best And look forward to hearing of your success
The 29th September 2009
A perfect day to write a rhyme
To give congratulations to my mum and dad
Thirty years of marriage can't be bad!
Your Pearl Wedding Anniversary should not pass without fuss!
Or showing you how much you mean to us
Your lasting marriage is a triumph in this day and age
When so many relationships soon end in sadness or rage
Is it your individual hobbies of fishing and shopping that keep things alive?
Is the secret to your success hidden in the Golf you drive?
Has your shared love of Mowtown brought you together?
Amanda & Roy like birds of a feather
Your love for each other has kept you looking young, Mum looks more like my sister than my mum
Your always out on the town or on holiday with Brian and Trish
For a social life like yours, I could only wish!
But seriously parents, have a wonderful day
And many more happy years together, come what may!
Shirley Loynes is 51 A biker chick, an office manager and most importantly my mum
I adore her, respect her, and hope I am a chip off the old block
Thank her and love her for always being my rock
I want her to use her birthday, to take some well deserved time out
From looking after everyone else, and charging all about
I want her to put her Tina Turner music on, and turn it up high
Get drunk on dark rum and coke, and on the sofa lie
Imagine you and Paul on the Harley, the wind blowing in your hair
Or winning the lottery, moving to a little cottage in the country, and living without a care
Mum you always make me giggle when you think you have lost your purse
When you think you may be seen without your teeth you start to stress and curse
Your passing out on holiday on the bathroom floor, always makes me crack up and my laughter roar
You really are just so special and my very best chum
I wish you a fantastic birthday and thank you for being my mum
Amanda, James and Frankie are filled with delight
Our hearts are full and our smiles are bright
Overwhelmed by your kindness at Frankie's gift
Made it worth her getting dipped
We hoped you enjoyed sharing our celebration
And meeting our wonderful little creation
Fathers Day is the perfect opportunity for me
To tell you how lucky I am to have you as my step daddy
You have been in my life for 20 odd years
Supported me through my triumphs and fears
When I was small you used to chase me up the stairs and make me scream
You would sing 'boots, boot, kinky boots and tickle my feet when I was a teen
I loved it when you swung me round like an airplane
I forgave you for the well meaning bath you ran me that ended in pain
Thank you for all the happy memories you have made
For all the love and effort you gave
I hope in the future you get what you dream
You and mum are such a great team
A little cottage in the country with a little work shop
The lorry driving you could drop
You could spend your days being creative, a pet dog by your side
Your Harley Davidson, daily you could ride
You deserve all of the above
But most important of all is love
And Pauline you are just so loved and fab
A really, amazingly wonderful dad!
One year ago on this day
You completed my life in the most special way
To marry you I have been truly blessed Nikki Roy, you are without exception 'The Best'
You gave up the bright lights and streets paved with gold
To live with me in Norwich until we grow old
To do the most important job a woman can do
Raise, love and nurture our adorable two
To take you for granted would be a sin
To me, so much happiness and joy you bring
When we are driving in our Scenic I sometimes sneak a peek
I look at you in admiration and my knees go weak
All that Yoga you do has certainly paid off
'So come on Babe, get those clothes off'
Your commitment in moving to Norfolk I will always respect
Not even unlimited red wine and my seafood spaghetti, could repay the debt
You are an amazing lady in every single way
Thank you and I love you, is all I have left to say!
Bec and Ian met at school On the back of the bus with Rachel Copperthwaite they thought they were cool!
A love story that started long ago
Spurred along by chance meetings in Freshpac, with a coffee to go
Following the sussing of each other out
They decided there was absolutely no doubt
They were destined to spend their future together
Through rich, poor, fat, thin, what ever the weather
The bubbling and crackling of their chemistry is the perfect mix
For each other all the boxes are ticked
Both trustworthy, down to earth, thoughtful, kind and love to laugh!
Their glass is always a fuller half
Whether they are on the sofa with a take away Chinese
Or enjoying a moonlight walk in a tropical ocean breeze
These two will be content whether in a palace or in a tent
To Bec and Ian friends and family are key
They adore their little nephew Charlie
When these two grow old and grey
And for a bus pass they won't have to pay
They will find themselves back on the back of the bus like when they were young
Still laughing, joking and having fun
On the 5th June 2009 With the global economy in decline
The Blind Pig first opened its doors To proudly present 4 dynamic floors
A venue designed to cater for all To dine, to drink to have a ball
Such heart and thought has designed the interior Rendering all other establishments inferior
Such expertise and experience has created the menu This really is Norwich's top venue
If you are looking for a luxurious, relaxing place to dine Want to meet friends to indulge in wine
A place to go with a lot of class Then the Blind Pig you must not pass
Inspired by the prohibition era of 1920s USA We hope you agree, 'The Blind Pig Speak Easy' is the place to be!
Becoming your Godmother is an honour and duty I shall always treasure
Bringing me pride and happiness I can not measure
A delicious, wonderful baby girl
With eyes of the blue ocean and a complexion of pearl
Your so bright, contented and delightfully happy
So cute snuggled up with your dudda, wearing your nappy
You won't remember but you came to stay for a week
You took quite a shine to Uncle Pete
Wouldn't leave him alone, had him smiling ear to ear
Then we realised you were just after his beer!
I wonder when you grow up what you may be?
A biker chick or water pilot like your daddy!
Or perhaps a fine actress and teacher like your mum!
Where ever life takes you, I wish you success and fun
Whether Nyah you decide to set the world on fire or just chill
Even if you think by then I am over the hill
Just remember I will always be there in future to give you support and a cuddle
And help you out if you get in a muddle
I have known your mummy since she was 6 months old
Lots of entertaining stories and memories can be told
I hope I get the same opportunity's to spend time with you
To enjoy this second generation little rascal, round 2!
Before the baby it was a perfect landscape
As perfect and smooth as a freshly iced cake
Plush, textured, inviting to touch or lay
A key piece in the living room, to admire every day
Proud angular stripes indented by the hover
Pushed, pulled and pressed in by careful manouver
Now an artistic spray of splodges cling to each fluffy fibre and strand
A concoction of Heinz and Cow & Gate brand
The mastery of the new sippy cup Shaken in smugness by my little mucky pup
Yogurt and porridge oats small chubby fingers have explored
No, no, no not on the rug I have roared
As every joyful memory of my baby's accomplishments is wiped and smeared
Like food stuck in an old mans beard
I love my rug even more
A history in the making on my floor
Crockery and cutlery all higgdly - piggle
Slotted in to tight spots by a greasy wiggle
The sweet and sour scents fused
For a happy family meal used
The baby's milky bottles drip
Plastic containers with remains of dip
Lipstick rimmed wine goblets and shot glasses form an orderly queue
A DNA record of who used who
Oven baked toppings have turned to stone
Elbow grease has no chance alone
Globs of delicious mayonnaise, now decaying in to a yellowy glaze K
nives and forks meet and greet
Standing in the cutlery basket nice and neat
Little tablet in draw clicks shut
Now all table wear prisoner in a wet, soapy hut
One hour later open the door
Smell the clean, lemony fragrance I adore
What is it with all these sports? Every where I look, like unwanted warts
In the minority I may be, but what is so interesting I can not see?
A pitch, a court, a bat, a ball
I would rather watch paint dry on a wall
I am baffled by people on the edge of their seat C
rying and shouting as their team admit defeate
When the scores or technique feature in talk
Time for me to take a walk
Who cares what these people are paid?
Whether or not they are getting laid?
Interior design, books or fashion
Now I can understand the passion
However Sport sadly for me will remain as stimulating as a fishing DVD
Celebrate, laugh, cry, eat humble pie, ask why or tell a porky pie
Put it in a card, hang it in the hall, write it on the wall, Lyrical Logic has it all
Wonderful words to treasure forever, put together ever so clever
A perfect personalised gift for the spirit to lift
A unique way to get your message through and know that every word is true
Sheree my wonderful and dearest friend
Your 30s have now come to an end
So 40 is the start of adventures new
And I can't wait to share them with you
Do you remember when we were just kids at school?
Standing in your room looking out over the playing fields, our gossip would rule!
We have always been able to confide, laugh and chat
Friendship doesn't come much better than that!
You also hold a special place in my family's heart
Your kindness and warmth makes you our cherished sweetheart
Your 80s themed party is going to be so much fun
Glitter in your bouncy curls, George Michael and shaking your bum
A night dedicated especially to you
Enjoy every second because you deserve it through and through!
I want to thank you for always being a true friend
And a million birthday kisses and hugs I shall send
Feedback: Sherees friend said 'She will love it & laugh her head off'!
Dom you are 21, a fine young man whose journey has just begun
From lil ol Narwich, to the bright lights of Stockholm
We know where ever you are happy, you will feel at home
12 months in Prague is your biggest adventure so far
Bless Auntie Carole, who on return kindly lent you her car
With your career going from strength to strength, it really helps to soften the wrench
That we all feel when you go away, Dom our little sunshine ray
A gifted stylist at Toni & Guy, a chance to open your wings and fly
With leggy Swedish models by your side, we hope lots of fun and success life will provide
We know you enjoy being a creative cook, your head buried in one of your Jaimie Oliver books
We know you love NC Brown Ale and would drink it in excess by the pale
We know you miss your nights out with the Langley boys
Rolling in with Tom at 4, making lots of noise
But most of all we know that you will succeed and you know we are here for whatever you need
I hope in 10 years time you read this and laugh from your Art Directors chair
At The London Academy you could be known as the King of hair!
So from all your family, Foxy the dog, mum and dad
A fantastic birthday may you have
Feedback from family: These are wonderful words which capture his life right now, he will look back on this with fond memories.
